A DATE WITH DESTINY

I have a date for which I can't afford to be late,
A date with destiny that I would love to hate,
A dalliance with providence to open the gate,
To future prosperity and secure my fate

On each and every day my deeds are weighed,
I must pay attention to avoid being swayed,
By any distraction that blocks my way,
To achieve my goals at the end of the day.

For my date with destiny is one that I shall never waste,
For it can never be undone or covered by a copy-paste,
It is a daily affair of pure dedication and utmost haste,
That determines the quality of my future tastes.

A LETTER TO GOD

Dear Heavenly Father, Every morning I wake up and wish heaven was a physical destination, Where I could race to seek Your audience whenever life tossed me into a situation, For though I've read your word and partaken of your freedom and liberation, I sometimes can't help but wish that we could share coffee, and have a face to face conversation. You see, sometimes I wish that heaven had a postal address where I could send my mail, Or a port of call that I could land for comfort whenever life storms made me frail, Like a wounded warship keeling over with broken masts and a torn sail, Limping home for warmth and comfort after the violence of raging storms and hail. When reading your word I am amazed by the intricacy and depth of your mercies, That you sacrificed your only son to die for me without considering my inadequacies, Which are so many that I sometimes feel unworthy of your love and many promises, But again you reassure me that you love me ev

DANGEROUS LOVE

Every time I see Your face, My heart increases its pace, Overpowered by the conviction to present its case, Confess of how I feel lost in Your gaze. Your style is so amazing, Your countenance totally captivating, Your beauty surpasses enchanting, Your character? So full of life and interesting.  Its just that with You I'm like a moth playing with a flame, So captivated though I know that its such a dangerous game, Which can burn my wings and leave me lame, So if I get heartbroken I'll only have myself to blame. © Patolyer 2012

PASSION OF MY LOVE

When she calls my name, I feel free like wild game, Natural unshackled and untamed, Tranquil in my claim, Free to soar as an eagle, Under the passion of love's flame. When she smiles at me, My heart flutters like a butterfly, Perched on the nectar of her love, On a day so warm and dry, Resting and swaying in peace and joy, Coz I no longer have to fly. When she holds my hand, Courage wells in my heart, For she is my inspiration, Driving my each and every part, To strive for distinction, Even when we are miles apart. © Patolyer 2012
