I am inspired, Yes, my enthusiasm is fired, By the failures and disappointments encountered in life, In the never ending roller-coaster of love,hate,peace and strife, For even though I may be beaten I am still breathing and still alive, And I know that at the end of it all I will conquer and survive. I am inspired, Yes, My enthusiasm is fired, By the wins and victories that I achieve however small, The grace and mercies that are divine answers to my call, For even though at times I may stumble and fall, I know that God is there for me forever more, through it all. I am Inspired, Yes, my enthusiasm is fired, By the heartwarming smile of my neighbor every morning, And the comforting hug of my friend that's ever loving, For even though I may be departing and leaving, I know that someone thinks of me with love and caring. © Patolyer 2012

When she calls my name, I feel free like wild game, Natural unshackled and untamed, Tranquil in my claim, Free to soar as an eagle, Under the passion of love's flame. When she smiles at me, My heart flutters like a butterfly, Perched on the nectar of her love, On a day so warm and dry, Resting and swaying in peace and joy, Coz I no longer have to fly. I have a date for which I can't afford to be late, A date with destiny that I would love to hate, A dalliance with providence to open the gate, To future prosperity and secure my fate On each and every day my deeds are weighed, I must pay attention to avoid being swayed, By any distraction that blocks my way, To achieve my goals at the end of the day. For my date with destiny is one that I shall never waste, For it can never be undone or covered by a copy-paste, It is a daily affair of pure dedication and utmost haste, That determines the quality of my future tastes. © Patolyer 2012

My aspiration, Is to be a beacon of hope and inspiration, To serve humanity with utmost dedication, And help the society overcome some frustrations. I yearn to be treated with dignity, Whenever life denies me the opportunity, For though I face challenges of instability, I face each head on to the best of my ability. I deserve to be accorded some respect, Even when most of my kind are deemed suspect, In many situations I'm left upset, By the indignation that is so deep set. I preserve my dignity with whats left of my pride, That is battered and beaten as an effect of the rough ride, That life has conspired to adjoin to my side, To drag and push along the way as a guide. © Patolyer 2012

In every life you have to fight, To overcome darkness and see the light, To move towards a future so real and bright, To soar in the sky as high as a kite. Mischief and grief will roar and hiss, Failure and disappointment will chide and tease, Many a times leaving me ill at ease, But in each moment I fight to achieve prosperity and peace. For easy success is cheap and rare, I fight to win mine hard but fair, And in every step takes every care, To clear and leave every challenge bare. © Patolyer 2012

Life is beautiful, life is magnificent, It is blissful,when filled with contentment, Make yours joyful, and overcome disappointment.  When times are hard, and everything goes bad, If life deals a card, that makes you mad, Take it with a smile and look forward, To a brighter tomorrow when You will no longer be sad. For the beauty if life, is in making the shift , To always receive,each day as a gift, On each day to strive, to sing and uplift, The beauty of life with your voice, For happiness is a choice. © Patolyer 2012.

I'm pressing on, Bearing the pain of disappointment that cuts like a knife, Fighting each moment to stay alive, To see the achievement of the purpose of my life.  I'm pressing on, With a determination to achieve my vision, Drawing closer to fulfilling my mission, Of achieving success before the end of the season. I am pressing on, Tackling every challenge with a clear mind, Fighting each day to make a find, That will make life smooth,sweet and kind. I will overcome, The trials and tribulations that life throws my way, Even when the ground is shaky and winds make me sway, I shall stand firm through night and day. I will overcome, The temptations that shall come and try my endurance, The inflictions that will happen to test my perseverance, I shall hold on and emerge victorious. I will overcome, The sadness and disappointment that may come and go, The memories that may haunt with a firm no, I shall press on, with a resolute resolve I pledge so. When times are good and life is kind, I will celebrate, When life is hard and times are bad I will tolerate, For every tribulation will my soul invigorate, And at the end of it all I know that I will overcome.   © Patolyer 2012

I am a sailor , Charting my course through life, Navigating in the midst of all the strife, Working and hoping that my efforts will thrive. I am a soldier, Fighting everyday to fulfill my mission, Yearning every moment to see the end of the season, Praying every second to experience the vision. Inspire me to work, Relentlessly as You watch my back, Spur me on each point of the way, Make me account for each moment of the day. God loves you,that's one thing for sure, He also cares deeply for you,because His love is pure, When you fall ill run to Him he has the cure, He will never desert you,even when friends get fewer.   Lay your trust in Him because He is true He never fails, Even when all hope is lost and your heart ails, He will protect you from falls like guard rails, And  whenever you fall into trouble, He is always at hand to post the bail. © Patolyer 2012

Every time I see Your face, My heart increases its pace, Overpowered by the conviction to present its case, Confess of how I feel lost in Your gaze. Your style is so amazing, Your countenance totally captivating, Your beauty surpasses enchanting, Your character? So full of life and interesting.  Its just that with You I'm like a moth playing with a flame, So captivated though I know that its such a dangerous game, Which can burn my wings and leave me lame, So if I get heartbroken I'll only have myself to blame. © Patolyer 2012

I have a dream, So sweet that I don't want to wake up, That one day peace is going to reign in all our hearts, And a vaccine for inhumanity will heal all our souls, Where a dose of Love will rule in all our lives. I have a vision, So real that I don't want to lose focus, That one day Love will be the trademark for all, And Kenya my motherland will be a jewel to be envied by all and sundry, Reigning supreme as a worthy idol to be emulated. I have a battle to fight, So precious that I can't afford to lose, To fight Tribalism from its roots,And to warn all that time is nigh, When time wills out and the bomb will explode, And its toxicity spares no humanity, If You have it in store, please kill it before time runs out. I have a prayer, So persistent that I won't let God rest, until he answers it, To see a paradise in Kenya, Where we will adhere to his commandments, Sparing him the task of having to judge our evils. I have a request to You all, So ...

This is the cry of a people so sick and tired, The expression of thirst for change so long awaited, A shout of hope so strong and fired, Of the dawn of a new life so long admired. In our education system facilities are overstretched, While our beloved teachers are underpaid and understaffed, Leaving our students so desperate and hopeless, Since their future is all bleak and jobless. In our hospitals patient queues seem endless, While the few doctors are frustrated and helpless, Due to lack of even basic drugs and equipment, And the unending trail of broken promises from the government. Our police force is so incompetent and corrupted, Leaving our streets so insecure, dangerous and lawless, Making our citizens so stressed and frustrated, By a government that is just quiet, weak and compromised. We are tired of the endless assurances and broken promises, By a political leadership full of greed and selfishness, Preaching heaven but protecting vested interests, Waxin...

Around and round I went, Indeed lots of time and energy I spent, Searching and hoping that I would forget, Every night spent hoping that her heart I would get, I realized that indeed to her I was taken, That this dream was one that could never be forsaken, Everything about her reminding me of heaven, Beautiful, enchanting and so magnificent, I chased my dream, And today I live in its beautiful sheen. © Patolyer 2012

Am walking on, Past the limits you set for me, Miles against thine prophecy, A future you swore I wont see, Person you claimed I cant be, A witness come and be, The reality come n see The walk about me. Am walking on, Beyond what my name means, Despite what my star reads, Past what my generation says, Breaking what the record holds Further than I can send my voice. Her smile, is like a glass of ice cold water during the hot, dry season, Refreshing as the idea of freedom to a man in prison, The way she moves her lips, is like watching the contact of dew drops on a leaf in the morning, So fresh, so pure and beautiful in a way that’s’ so totally enchanting, Her beautiful eyebrows are like the arches in a renaissance era mansion, Awe inspiring and captivating like windows to a secret revelation, Her speech patterns are like the whispers of classical music to a weary soul, So soothing and comforting like the a moonlit night to a smitten soul, Her beauty is like the grandeur and majesty of the Taj Mahal, So amazing that everyone just can’t help but admit to all, That is my definition of Tamika , The girl who conquered my heart and won my all.     © Patolyer 2012
