THE VOICE OF A POET

Happiness is that feeling of utter bliss, The dizzying pleasure of a stolen kiss, The cheeky wink of a naughty tease, That will never leave You ill at ease. Happiness is a roaring wind, Pulsing and soaring with force and greed, Devouring and tearing it all to feed, An insatiable appetite to grow and breed. Happiness is like that beautiful dream, On a cloud floating to a glorious realm, Massaged by the wind and caressed by steam, Enchanting like the glow of a moonlight  beam. Happiness is that bubbly and wonderful  feeling, Of passion that leaves us wobbly and reeling, The inexplicable joy that brings cures and healing, To a heart so hurt that it's crawling and bleeding. Happiness is a choice, To press on despite the falling ice, And season your life with some warmth and spice, To value your heart above any price. © Patolyer 2013.

Love and wisdom, More Intimate Than an exchange between a tender bridegroom and his bride Combination Clear like a foetus thought and pure as a virgins kiss Much sweeter than her tease Twice fold noble as a sturdy horse Yet opposite like a gun and a rose No wisdom in love Or should I say no love in wisdom Which is which, I can barely fathom For in love even the wisest minds sleep And in wisdom the purest heart cheat Lack of love just reason, minds marry and can't keep Without wisdom but only passion, hearts bond and later bleed Wisdom is organized love Love is accessed wisdom In affection devoid of wisdom man take other man's life In reason a lawyer put passion of heat as a defense And in wisdom devoid of affection the judge lessen the sentence What anomaly Wisdom feel life but think of death Love feels of only bliss Because for wisdom its foolishness to think of happiness Love and wisdom Both treat each other with sheer suspicion Love sees wisdom as so immoral an...

I won't give my heart to You again, Despite the pleas and assurances,You apply my trust to gain, For when You broke my heart, I left and faced the pain, Alone and conquered, from your love broke the chains. I was never out of options when I made You my choice, Saw you as my guiding light amidst the chaos and the noise, I ignored the warnings and never raised my voice, Not knowing you were leading my heart towards a shattering demise. I hear to the distant chime and toll of the cathedral bell, It's mournful ring whispering to my soul that all is not well, It seeps into my conscience and taunts like a demon from hell, The anguish tormenting my soul in ways I cannot tell. My freedom is tainted and my glow is gone, For the devil painted my world and left an empty cone, I nearly fainted as I teetered and tottered, totally driven by the alluring tone, Dancing to the cruel rhythm to which my life seems drawn. The reality dawns, suddenly like stones in a shower of hail, Shocking my heart and soul and drowning my painful wail, From the realization that I just missed the devils tail, And missed and encounter with the grim reaper,just about to set sail.   © Patolyer 2013

I am inspired, Yes, my enthusiasm is fired, By the failures and disappointments encountered in life, In the never ending roller-coaster of love,hate,peace and strife, For even though I may be beaten I am still breathing and still alive, And I know that at the end of it all I will conquer and survive. I am inspired, Yes, My enthusiasm is fired, By the wins and victories that I achieve however small, The grace and mercies that are divine answers to my call, For even though at times I may stumble and fall, I know that God is there for me forever more, through it all. When she calls my name, I feel free like wild game, Natural unshackled and untamed, Tranquil in my claim, Free to soar as an eagle, Under the passion of love's flame. When she smiles at me, My heart flutters like a butterfly, Perched on the nectar of her love, On a day so warm and dry, Resting and swaying in peace and joy, Coz I no longer have to fly. I have a date for which I can't afford to be late, A date with destiny that I would love to hate, A dalliance with providence to open the gate, To future prosperity and secure my fate On each and every day my deeds are weighed, I must pay attention to avoid being swayed, By any distraction that blocks my way, To achieve my goals at the end of the day. For my date with destiny is one that I shall never waste, For it can never be undone or covered by a copy-paste, It is a daily affair of pure dedication and utmost haste, That determines the quality of my future tastes. © Patolyer 2012

I yearn to be treated with dignity, Whenever life denies me the opportunity, For though I face challenges of instability, I face each head on to the best of my ability. I deserve to be accorded some respect, Even when most of my kind are deemed suspect, In many situations I'm left upset, By the indignation that is so deep set. In every life you have to fight, To overcome darkness and see the light, To move towards a future so real and bright, To soar in the sky as high as a kite. Mischief and grief will roar and hiss, Failure and disappointment will chide and tease, Many a times leaving me ill at ease, But in each moment I fight to achieve prosperity and peace. Life is beautiful, life is magnificent, It is blissful,when filled with contentment, Make yours joyful, and overcome disappointment.  When times are hard, and everything goes bad, If life deals a card, that makes you mad, Take it with a smile and look forward, To a brighter tomorrow when You will no longer be sad. I'm pressing on, Bearing the pain of disappointment that cuts like a knife, Fighting each moment to stay alive, To see the achievement of the purpose of my life.  I'm pressing on, With a determination to achieve my vision, Drawing closer to fulfilling my mission, Of achieving success before the end of the season. I will overcome, The trials and tribulations that life throws my way, Even when the ground is shaky and winds make me sway, I shall stand firm through night and day. I will overcome, The temptations that shall come and try my endurance, The inflictions that will happen to test my perseverance, I shall hold on and emerge victorious. I will overcome, The sadness and disappointment that may come and go, The memories that may haunt with a firm no, I shall press on, with a resolute resolve I pledge so. Every time I see Your face, My heart increases its pace, Overpowered by the conviction to present its case, Confess of how I feel lost in Your gaze. Your style is so amazing, Your countenance totally captivating, Your beauty surpasses enchanting, Your character?
